EDMONTON, AB – September 29, 2021 – The Board of Directors of the University of Alberta Properties Trust Incorporated (UAPTI) on behalf of the University of Alberta Property Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Greg Dewling as its inaugural President and Chief Executive Officer effective October 1, 2021.
UAPTI Board Chair Ralph Young commented that “Greg Dewling brings strong principled leadership to the Trust from a successful career in the housing and urban development industry. Greg is the former CEO of Civida (formerly Capital Region Housing Corporation) located in Edmonton, AB. He is passionate about building inclusive communities that create a sense of belonging for residents. Greg brings a depth of knowledge in community engagement, development, financing, and government relations. Under his leadership, the Trust will develop lands designated by the University of Alberta Board of Governors and return net revenues to the university and its endowment to benefit teaching, research and academic programs for years to come.”
Greg is a Chartered Member and Chair of Chartered Institute of Housing Canada. He has served on the Provincial Minister’s Housing Advisory Committee along with numerous other boards and committees. He holds a Bachelor of Theology and Master of Business Administration along with an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors-Rotman School of Management.

ABOUT THE TRUST
The Trust was incorporated to develop lands held by the university which are excess to the university’s needs as designated by the University of Alberta Board of Governors. The Trust is bound by a Trust Agreement to transfer all net revenues to the University of Alberta as its sole shareholder and beneficiary.
The Trust is directed by the directors of its Trustee the University of Alberta Property Trust Inc. who are volunteers and individuals with deep business and community experience committed to serve the university through a clear mandate from the university’s Board of Governors. The developments, master plan, land use designations, and construction will move in harmony with the long-range development plan of the University of Alberta and the City of Edmonton. The work of the trust will abide by smart growth design principles and economic goals.
