Greg is the former CEO of Civida (formerly Capital Region Housing Corporation) located in Edmonton, AB. He is passionate about building inclusive communities that create a sense of belonging for residents. Greg brings a depth of knowledge in community engagement, development, financing, and government relations.

Over the years, Greg has led the development of numerous affordable housing projects in the city of Edmonton. His work included a first of its kind joint venture with private sector to integrate affordable housing into market housing through a 50/50 partnership. In addition, Greg negotiated the first bond issue in Canada for use in developing affordable housing.

He is a Chartered Member Chartered Institute of Housing Canada along with being the Past President of Alberta Public Housing Administrators Association. He has been a member of the Provincial Minister’s Housing Advisory Committee and sits on numerous other boards and committees.  He holds a Bachelor of Theology and Master of Business Administration along with an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors-Rotman School of Management. 

He regularly shares his experiences throughout the country in the areas of community engagement, development, partnerships, shared services, information technology, innovation, customer service and governance.

Todd Werre has been assigned to the University of Alberta Property Trust as Vice President, Development and Construction from his position as Director of the Project Management Office at the University of Alberta. Todd brings extensive real estate development and operations, business and project management experience to the assignment. In his previous role, he was responsible for the oversight and management of all major Capital Projects developed and constructed on the University of Alberta campuses.  In addition, Mr. Werre provided hands-on strategic leadership of all critical project deliverables to ensure that the institutional risk from a portfolio, Board, or Government perspective was identified and proactively managed.

Prior to joining the University of Alberta, Mr. Werre has been involved in all aspects of private sector business. His experiences, spanning over 3 decades include strategic management, accounting and finance( CGA/CPA ), commercial lending, operations management, property management, construction, real estate development and project delivery (all asset classes) in all Canadian provinces west of the Maritimes.
