Director and Chair

Ralph Young is a corporate and not for profit director of a number of Edmonton based organizations. He is also the retired President and CEO of Melcor Developments Ltd. a diversified public real estate development and management company (1971-2013) and Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Alberta (2012-2016).

Ralph currently serves as a Board member or Trustee of the following corporations: Melcor Developments Ltd., Melcor REIT, History and Heroes Foundation and the University of Alberta Property Trust Inc. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Edmonton and the Citadel Board of Governors. He has previously served on a number of volunteer educational, sports, health, industry and community committees and boards.

Ralph is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan B.Sc. (Civil Engineering) 1967 and the University of Alberta M.B.A. 1973. He is a life member of APEGA and the Urban Development Institute – Edmonton Chapter. He is the recipient of a number of honours including the Meritorious Service Medal (Civil Division) and an Honorary Doctor of Laws from the University of Alberta.
