Doug Goss is a graduate of both the University of Alberta School of Business and Faculty of Law, earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance in 1981, followed by a Bachelor of Laws in 1984.  He is currently Counsel at Bryan & Company LLP and serves as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for Premium Brands Holdings Corporation.

A respected member of the legal community, he has established a leading practice specializing in corporate finance, securities, and counsel to public boards and venture capital. Throughout his career, he has been involved in numerous private and public corporations in Canada in a range of sectors including communications, pharmaceuticals, tourism, construction, and cancer research. He has also served on the Boards of many not-for-profit organizations.

Doug served as Chair of the Board of Governors of the University of Alberta from 2012 to 2015, guiding the institution at a time of transition and transformation.  Mr. Goss also served on the Board of Governors of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) from 2003 to 2010, and as Chair from 2008 to 2010.  He Chaired the Campaign Cabinet for the NAIT “Building on Demand” Capital Campaign, a successful initiative which raised funds for the creation of six new learning facilities at NAIT.

Doug currently serves as Chair of the CN Community Board, and the Hockey Canada Foundation, and is also currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Sarah McLachlan Foundation, as well as the Edmonton Police Foundation.

Doug formerly served as Chair of the TELUS Edmonton Community Board, the Board of Directors of the Fort Edmonton Management Company, the Edmonton Eskimo Football Club, the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, as Co-Chair of the 2010 Edmonton Grey Cup, and as Chair of the Molson Canadian Heritage Hockey Classic held in November 2003.  Mr. Goss has also served as Co-Chair of the 2023, 2017 and 2014 Military Cup, which raised funds in support of the Edmonton Military Family Resource Centre, the Alberta Cadet Program, and other initiatives.

A firm believer in giving back to his community, Mr. Goss has given his time and expertise to support many charitable initiatives in Edmonton including the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Kid’s Kottage, the Fort Edmonton Foundation, the Support Network, Kids with Cancer Society, the Minerva Foundation, the United Way, and B2ten, a foundation dedicated to the support of Canada’s Olympic athletes.

Doug is the recipient of a number of awards. He was named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International in 2009. A member of the Alberta Order of Excellence, he has also received the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum, Diamond and Golden Jubilee Medals, the Edmonton Outstanding Volunteer Fundraising Award, the Alumni Honour Award from the University of Alberta, and the Stars of Alberta Volunteer Award.  Mr. Goss received an Honourary Bachelor of Business Administration degree from NAIT at its Spring 2015 Convocation, and an Honourary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Alberta at its Spring 2017 Convocation.
